Grandma Eleni’s Cookies: O Livro de Receitas é uma homenagem à minha querida avó. Nesta edição partilho a receita original das lendárias bolachas ₒ-ᵒ, uma variação dos tradicionais koulourakia gregos de Páscoa, exatamente como me foi transmitida pela minha avó. Inspirado nos icónicos manuais de instruções da IKEA, sem palavras, ilustrei todo o método em 10 passos distintos, usando apenas desenhos, gráficos e ícones visuais. Para ajudar ainda mais, no centro do livro está o chef de pastelaria ₒ-ᵒ, um companheiro tipo cartoon dedicado, que oferece dicas e truques para guiar o leitor em cada etapa do processo de confeção.
Grandma Eleni’s Cookies: The Cookbook, is a tribute to my beloved grandmother. In this edition I share the original recipe for the legendary ₒ-ᵒ cookies, a variation of the traditional Greek Easter koulourakia, just as it was passed down to me from my grandma. Inspired by IKEA’s iconic wordless assembly instruction manuals, I have illustrated the whole method in 10 distinct steps, using only drawings, charts, and image icons. For extra help, at the heart of the cookbook is the ₒ-ᵒ pastry chef, a dedicated cartoon-like companion, offering insider tips and tricks to guide the reader through each stage of the baking process.
Markellos Kolofotias is a visual artist and educator based in Athens, Greece. He holds an MFA from the Athens School of Fine Arts and an Integrated Master’s Degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts, School of Visual and Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. As part of the Erasmus+ Studies Program, he also attended classes at the Facultad de Bellas Artes de San Carlos, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, supported by the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece. His work has been showcased in group exhibitions across Greece and internationally in institutions, galleries and independent spaces such as The Leonardo Museum, MOMus-Museum Alex Mylona, the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, the University of Arts in Belgrade, the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, Artler Gallery, KYAN Project Space, Action Field Kodra, and Communitism. He has been distinguished at the 8th Biennale of Students of Fine Arts Schools of Greece and has been awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship by ARTWORKS. In recent years, he has been actively engaged in art teaching across all levels of public education
